Trash on Odell's Pond

This is the unfortunate site that I have to see every day as I walk out of my house; trash on a frozen Odell's pond. For some reason, fellow seniors living in Odell's thought it was a great idea to throw their empty bottles onto the pond. Not only are there empty bottles on the pond, there is a broken Adirondack chair or two, plus other trash. These bottles, trash and broken chairs will just sink to the bottom of Odell's Pond and contaminate the pond. Also, there are a few pumpkins floating around the pond when it isn't frozen, which makes you wonder just how much trash there is in the pond. Why would students think that it is okay to throw their trash onto the pond? Every Odell's unit has a recycling bin and trash can available and yet people seem to has no respect for the environment and throw their trash wherever is easiest and most convenient for them. We should all spread the word and try to change people's behavior and the American culture of laziness!
