Is awareness-building working?

With the 10&10 campaign underway at the colleges, it would seem that people would be making more of an effort towards our set goals (especially with all of the awareness building in the past two weeks). I am not sure if it is indifference or lack of awareness, but the two photos I took this week do not seem to show an effort by the student population, but hopefully the waste audit this week can prove me wrong. The first photo was taken last Thursday outside of Stern Hall; note the ratio of clear bags to blue bags and the amount of recyclables in the trash. The other photo was also taken last Thursday at one of the back doors of North. Propping doors lets heat out, which is not helping our goal of 10% reduction in energy. I also found it a bit ironic that it was a bag of recycling t that was propping the door, using in one energy efficient thing (recycling) to compromise another (heat reduction).
