What's wrong with this picture?!

Can you guess what is wrong with this picture?.... Just about everything. If you look into the trash can there are numerous things that should be recycled. This includes all the paper, aluminum bottle, and plastic container. The garbage consisted mainly of paper products and had little amounts of things that actually should have been thrown away. Taking a closer look you can see that there is nothing in the recycling bin... except a layer of liquid on the bottom. Anything that could be recycled, like paper products, would be contaminated by this liquid. This would result in a good chance that anything recycled and contaminated would not be able to complete the recycling process. This type of carelessness can be seen all around the HWS campus. A prime example is the disposal bins in Scandling Center. These bins include trash, recycling, and composting but no matter what someone will always dispose of something in the wrong bin. Countless number of times there is recycling in the compost of garbage in the recycling. It takes an extra 15 seconds to sort your trash and if everyone took those 15 seconds maybe it will become second nature... or hopefully it will.
